In my future I see:
~a bath towel serving a purpose in my life. Currently with this protrusion I cannot make it to the bedroom from our master bath without the bulging belly pushing the towel off. The goods are no longer hidden...when at this juncture...they certainly should be.
~not having to use the bed as an assistant for getting into my underwear.
~a bladder that holds more than a tablespoon of urine, and one that allows me time to walk casually down the hall to empty it...rather than having to kick my penguin waddle into high gear before pissing myself.
~days where I don't have to devise a strategic plan as how I am going to get the pen I just dropped from my hand onto the floor.
~a day at work where my coworker, Jen, doesn't actually know when I have gotten up from a chair due to a grunt or groan. I also look forward to her not having to yell across the hall, "You okay over there?"
~my lovely lady lumps not looking like a superhighway of veins
~my toes not looking like little smokies. Oh, that reminds me, I need to pick up some bbq sauce at the store.
~ my crotch
This freaking crystal ball better be right...here's to wishful thinking ;)

Showering Us With Love
Last Sunday my girlfriends threw me a shower...by far the best baby shower I have ever been to. All the stops were pulled out and I was just amazed at how incredibly lucky I am to have such wonderful women in my life. The beautiful shower was thrown by 6 women whom I am so lucky to call friends: Angela, Jamie, Liz, Laurel, Gabby and Molly.
To all my ladies...may you always know how much I adore you and how grateful I am that you are a part of my life.
My wish is that my daughter is able to be surrounded by as many phenomenal women as I was at my shower. If she is, then she will have known what happiness and true friendship really are.
One week later and I am still grinning ear to ear that I have the pleasure of introducing my daughter to all the girls who support and love me unconditionally. Thanks again friends. Here are some pictures of some amazing gifts!!!

3D Ultrasound & 28 Week Bump!
Today we went to Belly Image in Lenexa to have our 3D Ultrasound done! What a cool place, I highly recommend it, the ladies there are so sweet and it was a great experience. We were able to get 8 photos printed off for us (what they call Instant Gratification) and a CD with over 80 3D images and a DVD of the entire live sonogram. :)
Here are some of my favorites of Miss Gia, she was a little sleepy and a little shy (always wanting something by her face whether it be her hand, her foot, or all 4...yes all 4 she had up in her face for the last 10 minutes!!) What a stinker. She's gorgeous, no question about it and I am getting so anxious to hold her and meet her.
Also, here is my 28 week baby bump...gotta be honest, I am not in love with any pictures of me at this point, so it's getting difficult to WANT to post pics!

Downward Panting Dog
Week 28, Reagan loses all ability to breath as if she is in any form of shape or just simply mobile at this point.
That's funny, no where in What to Expect When You're Expecting do they go into detail about what occurs when your son/daughter gets so big they actually begin to squash your lungs leaving you sounding like a panting dog after doing the simplest tasks. Exaggeration you may shout. I accept your challenge.
Scene 1:
With a barricade of pillows surrounding me that you couldn't find me in my own bed if you tried, I wake up with an urge to pee---the one where your bladder says, "You better get the hell up because your daughter just finished her dance party to Criss Cross' Jump Jump, and you have twenty seconds before I explode." I shall get up then I say...insert attempt to roll out of bed #1. I shall get up then I say...insert attempt #2. Damn it. After a good solid roll from the right to the left side I gain enough momentum to exit the pillow fort and take the 10, yes count them, 10 steps to my bathroom. I sit down and here is what I sound like from the bathroom
http://youtu.be/3oquLcAusUY
...all the while draining what should be a full bladder, but only amounts to about a shot glass of pee.
Ahhh shots, what it was once like to be 21...but I digress.
Scene 2:
Setting: Couch in living room with Reagan sitting on one side, Daniel on the other.
Reagan-Babe, can I lay down and put my feet on your lap?
Daniel- Sure
Reagan- maneuvers herself from sitting position to laying position (this takes about 20 seconds).
Daniel-You doing okay over there?
Reagan-Yah, why?
Daniel- Um, just curious, because you are like taking four breaths to my one, just wanted to make sure you weren't going to overheat.
Reagan- Shut up.
Daniel- Do you need an oxygen tank?
Reagan- ......
---it's not like you don't know what I say here!
Scene 3
I drop a grape on the kitchen floor. I bend over to get it.

Nursery News
Walls are painted a lavender-gray color ~ very peaceful!
Cherry Blossom Tree Decal is on the wall ~ love it!
A chandelier hangs over her rocker ~ a nice ambiance to the room.
Her white dresser with "diamond" knobs now house some adorable clothes for when she arrives.
Her crisp white crib has her new soft pink bedding in it with her very first doll and stuffed animal!
Gia's godmother, Jen, bought her letters to spell her name and the fabric that will cover them. Grammy Cunningham is covering them this week so we can mount them!
It's still pretty bare, but hopefully will be collecting some signature pieces as the weeks roll on...we love it so far! I love to go in there at night and imagine what my life will be like in twelve short weeks. Looking very forward to meeting our daughter!!!

Daddy Do It All!
Gia Girl....let's chat. You are one lucky girl, do you know that? Or as your Pops would say "You're a lucky lucky dog!" In less than three months you get to meet one of the finest men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and loving...your Daddy! You may not know this about your Dad but he is an incredible man (this you will soon find out!). He isn't like most, that's what I love about him. Your Daddy is a very passionate person. When he decides to go for something, he goes full throttle, heart and soul. Pretty amazing right? He has pulled out all the stops for you my dear daughter, and he just keeps amazing me. I thought it was amazing when we got married almost two years ago that he wanted to be a part of the planning of certain parts of our wedding (one being the food...imagine that!!)..most men would not care. But, it became even more apparent how involved he wants to be when we found out you were headed our way.
Since the day we found out we were expecting a baby (even before we knew you were Gia, and not Macks) he has been shopping for you, helping design your nursery, and working through every step with me. Your Mom is one lucky woman, and she thanks God everyday for your Dad. He is going to become an even better person because you will enter his life (which is hard to imagine). I know you will never go without love and compassion because Daniel is your Daddy. See you very soon baby girl. But for now...here are some pictures of your Dad and Brinkley hard at work!

I'd Like An Order of Patience Please...
You're gonna want to get comfy for this one...
Today was my glucose screening test and it was really quite painless (except the three pricks to my arms). I should get my results back here in a few days and hopefully I passed with flying colors so I don't have to do anything else. I arrived at 8:00 a.m. and they took my blood since I was fasting. I then chose the lemon-lime flavor and it was not bad at all, just a VERY sugary drink. Comparable to Mountain Dew on crack. I chugged it, knowing it was probably best to not stop or I may not want to finish it. Then an hour later I was called back for my blood to be drawn again, and then a last time another hour later. By 10:00 a.m. I was out of there, starving, but headed home. Should get my results back in a few days, let's all pray I pass---I don't like the idea of anyone telling me back to back off the cheesecake. Will keep you posted, but it really wasn't bad at all.
Now...what was bad was the 2 hours in the waiting room and the people God chose to send in for my viewing pleasure. You may or may not know this about your girl Reagan, but she tends to have what some might call SUPERSONIC HEARING. Yes, it's true, I try to not boast (as it is more of a curse then a blessing). I can hear things that most cannot, I have very VERY VERY sensitive ears. So, with that said, you can imagine how hard it was growing up hearing the light flickering in the ceiling while taking the ACT Test (let's not discuss scores here)...or being sat next to the nose whistler during church (you know, the guy who has a booger hanging and it flaps back and forth as he inhales and exhales, therefore making a whistling sound)...or putting in some serious man hours working on my CD Clock in shop class just to throw it away because the minute hand ticked too loudly while I slept. It's a curse, okay.
So today, God (being the funny man he is) brought three people into the lab to test my patience and to challenge my handicap. Here is who he brought me:
Under the Breath Cusser
Lady Who Can't Hear Her Own Phone Ringing
Finger Tapper
Under the Breath Cusser~a heavy set man who is pissed off at the world he had to come this morning and who is panting to say the least. Nothing makes him happy so as he sits across the room from me he continues to pant, but with every exhale he cusses. I appreciate the fact that he leaves no word unused...but he is mad at the world, to say the least...and he has an angry stare to him.
Lady Who Can't Hear Her Own Phone~Hey mam, yah ummm, that's your phone that has rang four times at a volume of 12 now. Take a look around, no one is checking to see if it is THEIR phone. Gonna go out on a limb here and say that I don't think any of us willingly chose the Bach/Beethoven remix as our ringer either...so ya, it's you...answer it.
Finger Tapper~ This just in...you tapping your fingers loudly on the US Weekly to the tune of Yankee Doodle will NOT get them to call your name any faster. It will, however, end with you losing your phalanges when I ninja chop them off. You see, I can do this because you chose to sit directly next to me space invader. Please note, there were ample seats available, he chose to pull up right next to me.
So, in conclusion dear friends, I hope that one day I am graced with that motherly ability to tune out these things just as I have seen many tune out the sounds of their own children's voice. This is my prayer.

26 Weeks~ Whoop Whoop!
Had my monthly doctor appointment on Wednesday. Gia is doing well! Her heart rate 142 bpm. Bump is growing, skin is stretching, and I am itching! I cannot believe that I only have one more appointment in 4 weeks and then I will start seeing my doctor every 2 weeks! When school starts back up August 17th I know it will be a fast moving train to due date!
Happy Friday Homies!
Daniel and I scheduled our 3D/4D ultrasound 2 weeks from today, so look for some great 3D shots coming of our angel. Here is the bump--my green tank top makes me think of St. Patrick's Day, which makes me want green beer, which then makes me happy knowing I can have on of those in March!!! :) Went back to dark hair today too.
Happy Friday Homies!
Who Invited This Guy???
Okay ladies, this one is for you! Mom, I know sometimes you tell me that I don't ALWAYS have to share everything that's on my mind...I agree. But, I tried to be good, I just couldn't ;) I had to share. It was too good and admit it, we were dying laughing this morning on the phone about this!
Let's begin...So, who in the heck invited this Braxton Hicks guy to the party? I mean seriously, could he be any more of a party crasher? Here I am just minding my own business, getting comfy in bed and trying to slip into a slumber last night (yah right!)...and then BAM. He busts into the party like he owns the place. Back it up baby...where's your invitation??
Someone please tell me why in the world I got the "pleasure" of meeting Mr. Hicks~or as I like to call him "Quasimodo." (Mom helped me with that one!) The dude didn't even swoon me, he just wrapped his bell rope around my lady parts and started chiming the bell at 11:30 last night? That could not have been any more uncomfortable and gut wrenching. Take a girl out for dinner or something, ya know.
Typical male.
Anyways, called the doctor today and am waiting to hear back if the side effects from my contractions seem to be normal, talk about a nervous wreck. Just got of the phone, doctor says this soreness today is normal and if it doesn't get better to call the doctor on call. I want to meet you sweet girl, but not for another 3 months okay!!! Stay in there and bake.
And as for you Quasi, Braxton, Mr. Hicks...whatever your alias is...get outta here and go chime someone else's bell.
Walking around like the Hunchback of Notre DAMN!

Maniac Mommy
Hey beautiful people reading my blog,
Happy Tuesday! So I was sitting here kind of drawing a blank on what to do my blog post about this
week and just when I was about to shut the laptop down, it came to me! Children's books! Totally confused? I hear ya. Okay, so I have been to a few baby showers the past few years and there has been a trend I have noticed, that I absolutely love! In lieu of bringing a card with your gift, you bring your favorite childhood book to give to the Mommy and Baby! How stinking cute is this? I mean, let's be real---cards (next to tissue paper) are one of the most annoying things to purchase...a) because it costs $3.49 at the cheapest and b) you know it's going in the trash, no matter how much shine or sparkle it has, or beautiful poetry you write inside it. Cynical? Perhaps. Moving on.

Okay, so I have been to a few baby showers the past few years and there has been a trend I have noticed, that I absolutely love! Cynical? Perhaps. Moving on.
So this whole book idea is just great because not only is it something meaningful for the guest to offer to that child/parent, but it also helps build that child's library. I think it's genius! So, while picking out favorite childhood books for some friends showers I have started to notice a small theme amongst some of them...Mom's are crazy. Don't believe me--take a look at a few of these childhood favorites and then read some of the passages from the story...then let's talk about it.
The Runaway Bunny
This story is about a little bunny who tells his Mother that he wants to run away. So his mother responds to him that if he runs away, she will run after him. He rebuttals, as any child would, that if she runs after him he will be come a fish in the trout stream. She wittingly replies that she will become a fisherman and will fish for him. He chimes in that he will become sailboat and sail away from her. Turning up the crazy dial, she tells him that she will become the wind and blow him where she wants him to go. This story goes on and on about him trying to be more clever than this crazy ass mother, but finally the little bunny says, "Shucks, I might as well stay where I am and be your little bunny." Mother replies, "Have a carrot."
No chance for that kid in the future...little bunny, looks like you are taking Mommy to the prom!
Love you Forever

Pretty sure we have all read this one...so let's just get right to it, shall we? From the book "The little boy grew. He grew and he grew and he grew. He grew until he was nine years old. And he never wanted to come in for dinner, he never wanted to take a bath, and when grandma visited he always said bad words. Sometimes his mother wanted to sell him to the zoo! But at night time, when he was asleep, the mother quietly opened the door to his room, crawled across the floor and looked up over the side of the bed. If he was really asleep, she picked up that nine-year-old boy and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth." Fast forward to when the boy is a grown man living in his own home... "If all the lights in her son's house were out, she opened his bedroom window, crawled across the floor, and looked up over the side of his bed. If that great big man was really asleep she picked him up and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth."
Okay pretty sure it is illegal to scale the walls of someones home, break into the house through the window, and crawl over to one's bed where they are in slumber. This family needs to get ADT installed asap!
So in closing, Gia---you are totally screwed and you better NEVER leave me.
Your loving Mother.
Feel free to add other books that match this theme!!! :)
