Never been pregnant before? BE AWARE...YOU CAN LITERALLY FALL ASLEEP WITHIN 2 MINUTES IF GIVEN THE CHANCE!!! Ready for my story? Yesterday Daniel and I were out running errands all day and when we got back he started painting our bathroom (props to him it looks so much better!!!). Anywho, I decided to finish up cleaning the house and was working on laundry. I brought up the LAST load of freshly fluffed towels and laid them on my bed.
That's it. That's the end of the story---I have no recollection of what took place after that exact moment. Except for what Daniel explained to me an hour later. "Apparently" I passed out on the pile of warm cozy towels, face first. Surprised when he came out of the bathroom, he then noticed my dog was somehow underneath me (probably fighting for his life). After checking both pulses, he left us there and began folding the towels as a good husband would! As he pulled the last warm towel from what seemed to be my cold dead hands, I awoke.
Confused and out of it....I peed and went back to bed.
Sincerely Yours,
Narcoleptic Nancy

16 Weeks
Funny how your body changes from morning to evening...both of the pictures I posted for week 12 and 14 have been late in the day so my belly is full and larger, but this morning I thought I better snap my 16 week photo before we jet off to the Lake! Seems a tad smaller, but I certainly feel it has popped out this week!
Forgive me, I look a bit tired, as I was up at 4 a.m. because our neighbors were hammered and Brinkley didn't like the fact one of them was writing his name in urine in front of our house...apparently only his Dad can do that. :) Here's hoping everyone has a safe and fun holiday weekend! Here goes my first Memorial Day weekend without my precious Michelob Ultra...decaf sun tea is being brewed for me as we speak by my bestie Ang!
Cheers!

It's All in the Name...
So Daniel and I love the names we have picked out for our son/daughter, but I have started to get a little sad as the time draws near of finding out what Baby A is. I want to use both of the names so badly that it kind of makes me sad to think that we may never be able to use one of them (if we are only blessed with one child, if we have 2 boys or 2 girls)...does that make sense? I am so excited to find out who our baby will be, but hate to let a name go!!!
For a girl we have selected Gia Therese. Gia comes from Daniel's middle brother Nicholas Giovanni. We shortened it and made it feminine. Therese comes from my grandmother Teresa, Daniel's great grandmother Teresa, and from our parish here in KC (St. Therese). For a boy we have chosen Macks Leandro. Macks' name (not Max) has all of the first and last initials of "his" grandparents M-Matt and Marcia, A-Allegri, C-Cunningham, K-Karen, S-Stephen. Leandro was Daniel's grandfather's middle name, and Leo is my great grandfather's name.
Either way our child's name will be incredibly meaningful and full of Allegri/Cunningham history!

Let's Talk About Sex Baby...
Pervert, not that kind of sex...the sex of the baby! :) So there are quite a few wives tales/myths out there about if you do certain things, you are having a boy...if you want certain foods, you are having a girl. So, just to be fun and before we find out the sex of Baby A in 3 weeks (can you believe it!!!), I thought we would see what we are working with. Ready?
Heart Rate- above 140 is a girl, below 140 is a boy. Baby A's heart rate at last appointment was 157. 1 point girl.
Cravings-sweet foods is a girl, salty/spicy foods is a boy. 1 point boy
How you carry-carrying high is girl, low is a boy. Not really carrying alot right now but it seems to be lower. 1 point boy.
Morning sickness- moderate to heavy sickness is a girl, no morning sickness is a boy. 1 point boy.
Feet- feet often cold boy, feet not often cold girl. 1 point boy
Results indicate we having a little boy...we shall see!!!!!!!! :)

As Biggy Would Say "It Was All a Dream"
Well, I was welcomed with open arms into the land of CRAZY dreams last night. This is apparently another glorious journey the pregnant woman takes...I am just glad I came out of it alive! Ready for it?
I was back in Brookfield at a massage parlor (do they even call them that anymore or is that for the "risque" places?) Anyway...I walked it to get a prenatal massage...after dressing in my "motherly" massage atire?? A hiddeous 1950 version of Kate Middleton's wedding dress I was headed back to the room for my massage, when all of a sudden (to a pregnant woman's suprise) I had to pee. So I asked for the restroom. Unfortunately they didn't offer adult bathrooms, just kiddy restrooms for the sick kids who also lived in the parlor...kids that were hooked up to IV's and had oxygen tanks on wheels that walked around the halls???? So they said that I could use the staff bathroom. Great I thought. I went back behind the partition and each staff member had an individual bathroom, except...wait for it...they were recliners with holes cut in the seat where you did your business. A classy version of a porter potty I would assume. What the hell...I need to get out of here.
But wait, I attempted to try and use these recliners, but I was having troubles hovering over the recliner, as to not touch the seat cushion (mostly using the arm rests as any normal person would do)...when interrupted by my therapist who was ready to disrobe me from my motherly lace and massage me.
BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, thank you God I woke up...and really had to pee.

Congratulations...It's A....Orange Baby!
So I had a dream last night that I had an orange baby...perhaps because I was spray tanning yesterday (which before anyone says anything, I checked with my doctor who okayed this!!!) and started to think...yikes, I really don't want to be huge and totally pregnant coming in here. I don't want people to be thinking I am frying my child in the real deal bed when I am actually doing the safe route! Which got me thinking...why do we always worry about what others think? I mean let's be real...if I checked with my doctor who said it was totally fine, why am I second guessing it? Perhaps b/c I feel vein in a way--thinking "Seriously Reagan, you can't go 9 months without spray tanning, or getting your hair highlighted?" The answer..NO! I realize I am about to undergo some serious bodily changes and if it helps me feel better about myself to dye myself orange and highlight my hair, then so be it!
BTdub...I am pretty sure all the movie stars are spray tanning while pregnant---that aint no pregnancy glow. ;) Thanks for tuning into, As Reagan Rants!!!

Just so you know...
Here are some things you all should know about me (some you may already know!) ;)
...I have always loved pickles but this pregnancy makes me want to eat an entire jar...and not just any type of pickle, I am talking the skating rink style pickles.
...I realize my time will come when this pregnancy will suck and I will be over it, but until then, you won't find me complaining b/c I am more than blessed!
...don't ever tell me I have already developed a waddle when I am only 14 weeks pregnant (yes this happened, and yes I went ahead and told that person how I felt about them...)
...lots of people want to tell others WHAT TO EXPECT and WHAT TO DO while pregnant...this is when I am really glad I have that face that shows people exactly what I am thinking!
...I couldn't be making this journey with a better partner...I truly have the world's best husband--Baby A, you have no idea how lucky you are.
...while typing this, I just ate 5 Pop Ice popsicles and have zero remorse.
...I 100% mean this...I am going to be so thrilled whether we have a girl or boy. (if I could choose, here are some hopes...my curls, D's olive skin and eyes)
...walked into Baby's R US with Daniel to see what we were in for...after 3 minutes we left completely terrified and overwhelmed...where the hell do you begin?
...I am finding that not drinking is not as hard as I thought it would be...we will be revisiting this topic as summer draws near though as I think my opinion may quickly change ;)
Birthday Baby Bump!
Hey all! I hope this finds you well on this cold and windy Saturday afternoon. I am in comfy clothes watching Sex and the City and waiting for Pizza Hut to deliver my beef and onion thin and crispy pizza! I am sitting here with the biggest smile on my face because I have had such a wonderful weekend. Yesterday I had lots of friends join me at Manny's for a great Mexican birthday dinner OLE, today I got to go to Bridget's baby shower (cutest pregnant woman ever!) and then out to see a friend who just got his MBA (congrats Ryan!). It's been a great weekend and I am beat!
I want to thank everyone of my friends and family for such an amazing birthday, they keep getting better with age! D and I were talking about how this time next year for my birthday we will have to call in the parents to babysit Baby A so we can go out with friends to celebrate, but being that it might be the first time out of the house for a real celebration....we will be beat and in bed by 10! ;) My how times are changing.
Here is my baby bump picture for week 14! Not much change...still feel great though! Love to you all.

14 Weeks!
Went in for that second ultrasound yesterday at Imaging for Women (love that place!). The baby looked great and they saw zero issues (no second sack that didn't form, no divided uterus, no nothing!). So it was probably just my bladder casting a shadow. Our little nugget was just moving and grooving in there again! Heart beat was 157 and Daniel was able to video the sonogram for a little portion. He purchased the I Flip and I think we will have be getting lots of use out of that in the next few years.
Baby measured as if I am 14 weeks 2 days today, that's a tad off of what my OB had me at (13 weeks 5 days). But pretty darn close. Taking the Duet DHA prenatals and they aren't making me sick and I am praying the baby will quickly develop anything I have not provided it the past month ;)
Plan is to find out the gender in about 5-6 weeks. Will know a specific date at my next OB visit scheduled for June 7th. Daniel and I's guess is a boy! What is yours? Here is another sono picture!
Thanks for checking in...

DHA Drama!!!
Alright ladies, this is for you---especially those ladies out there that have ZERO CLUE about prenatal vitamins and how to use them...because guess what---I AM SO FREAKING CONFUSED! So here is my story. About 3 months ago, when Daniel and I decided to start trying the doctor recommended me getting on a prenatal vitamin and then staying on it throughout the pregnancy. Well month one I was trying my hardest to remember to take it! Month two I got great about it and was religiously taking the vitamin. Then a friend came along and said, "Hey BTdub, your prenatal should have DHA in it, does yours?" So I checked it, of course it didn't. DHA is a supplement to help with brain and eye development. So I go out to CVS and get a new prenatal that I THINK has DHA inside the pill. There were two bottles in the box (I just assumed they were the same freaking pill). But where they? No, that would be too easy and therefore a boring blog post.
Month three, I think I am taking a prenatal vitamin with DHA..am I? Nope, turns out I am just taking the freaking DHA pill but the other bottle actually contains the prenatal vitamin....and I should be taking one pill from each bottle. So here we are...getting ready for month 4 and now my baby probably has a huge brain and eyes yet no spine to support it. AWESOME.
So, in a nutshell...there are prenatals out there that have the DHA infused in them, but I was not taking those. Now I am going to start taking a prenatal vitamin (that just looks like a basic pill) and a DHA supplement (that looks like a gel capsule)=2 separate pills. Good news after talking to the nurse she said I am totally fine and that to start back up today and chalk it up to just not knowing! Hope this helps just one NEWBIE MOMMA out there---Lord help me.
Until next time...

Full of Energy!
We just got back from our 2nd doctor's appointment and got to see Baby A again!!! He/She was just moving and grooving in there...so cool. I originally was just going to be able to hear the heartbeat, as our doctor's office doesn't have the newest ultrasound machine with the attached doppler, but when I had a question for Dr. White, she suggested we just take another look. After a few friends saw my first sonogram picture they were curious as to what the little shaded area was NEXT to the sack. After hearing "maybe you are going to have twins" for the past 4 weeks, I was anxious to see what Dr. White's take on it was. She said it wouldn't hurt to take another look.
We saw that shaded area again but this time it was clear there wasn't a baby in there but she was wondering if it could be my bladder casting a shadow, a second sack that didn't develop into a baby, or I might have a divided uterus. Since they cannot tell yet, she wants me to see Women's Imaging where they can get a really good and clear look at what is going on. She didn't seem worried either way about what we saw, but just always wants to be on top of everything.

Baby A's heartbeat was strong and he/she is certainly very active. Daniel said, "He/She definitely has our personality!" Here is a picture of our 13 week sono! :) Cheers.

And so it begins...
Well Miss Molly, you convinced this girl to become a BLOGGER! Hey everyone, and welcome to my blog. I never really envisioned myself as the blogger type, but after becoming completely addicted to my girlfriend, Molly's blog, I thought, hey maybe there are just a few people out there who will follow my blog too! I am doing this blog for a few reasons. One is for my friends who won't be here to watch the GROWTH of myself and our baby in person. Another reason is because I can't think of a better way to remember every piece of this journey. Daniel and I are so excited to be welcoming our son/daughter into our lives this coming November. We are first timers at this gig, so I look forward to this journey with the most amazing husband ever and with the most incredible family and friends a girl could ask for.
Just a quick update on where we are in this pregnancy. I am 12 1/2 weeks along and feel incredible! I am due November 10, 2011. We go for our second doctor visit tomorrow and we are so excited. This pregnancy has been quite easy to say the least. I have had no morning sickness and have really been feeling great except for the fatigue. I am posting a few pictures, I apologize for the fuzziness (they are pictures of pictures), but I promise to just start taking them with my phone so I can send them directly to the blog!
Happy Monday friends, chat more soon!
