Dear Reagan (you sexy woman you),
I am writing this for you to reference in November because I think it's important you know how great you are.
It has come to my attention that some people are imbeciles. Haha, okay seriously, as if you of all people didn't already know that with your previous blog posts. But for real, they are out there and it's as plain as day that you can't change stupid. At almost 25 weeks along a woman said to you, "Just remember hun, all that weight you put on during this pregnancy, eventually has to come off...so careful what you eat!" I wanted you to know something. First, I think she had a baby 19 years ago and clearly hasn't lost the "baby weight." And second, in a little over three months, that ridiculous woman will be far from your mind as you meet Gia and bring her home. Let's talk about how incredible you are okay. I write this for all you Mom's out there!
Reagan, you carried a freaking baby! You were a vessel for your daughter for a long nine months. You over thought everything! From the food you ate, the liquids you drank, the creams you put on your skin, the color you died your hair, the activities you allowed and didn't allow yourself to do, everything. And you did this all for another human being! A human you had never even met. You have done something that no man can ever say he has done. You have done something that not all women can say they have done. You have brought your child into this world. You are an incredible person.
I write this because I know how you felt when that woman said that to you. I know that you thought several times, Dear God please let this weight come off, please let my husband continue to love me and not think I am hideous, please give me the energy to get back to the gym and get back to feeling like me! But, I want you to know that this post will be here waiting for you when you deliver this girl!
With that said, look back on this blog post when you are ready and do me a favor. Thank God. Thank Daniel, and Thank your body. For without these three things your daughter would not be here. Be grateful for a body that was healthy enough to house this miracle. Be grateful for the nine months of letting yourself fudge a little with foods you wouldn't have regularly dared to eat (let alone is such great amounts!). Then, kiss your family and hop on the treadmill or get back to kickboxing so you can be the best Mommy and wife ever. Give yourself time for it to come off and remember you are now a Mommy so priorities have changed, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't put your health and happiness up there at the top too!
And most importantly, welcome back your beautiful body that is now only owned by you!
I am proud of you!
Sincerely,
You at 6 months pregnant who is about to get a damn Rolo McFlurry and that lady can suck it.

24 Week Bump
Howdy! Here is my 24 week baby bump, again a few days late, sorry about that! :) I will be hitting the 25 week mark on Thursday!!! :) Gia is very active with her kicks early in the morning if I just lay still in bed and right before I go to bed! I am starting to think that because her Mom talks so much (shocker I know) she is at peace and sleeping through the day, but when I shut up...she wants her voice to be heard! :)
Something weird..on Saturday I started noticing what felt like a fizzy feeling right under my right breast bone. The best way to describe it is like an Alka-Seltzer has been dropped in my upper ab and it is fizzing away! It doesn't hurt, just weird. Comes and goes for just minutes at a time, sometimes multiple times a day though. I have heard of hiccups feeling like this but usually everyone that has written about says that feeling has come from the lower pelvic area. Who knows..maybe Gia has flipped again and her hiccups are up under my chest..or her hair is tickling me. Any thoughts???
A few things I am noticing:
-Dessert is still a must some time throughout the day (ice cream, cookies, cupcake!). I wonder if this goes away after pregnancy??
-I still feel pretty good and have been diligent about hitting the chiropractor at least every 2 weeks if I get sore.
-I can definitely see that my breathing has gotten heavier with simple tasks like walking up the stairs, bending over, trying to get up! :)
-As much as I love to eat, I have noticed the food is running out of places to go so I am getting full faster...Gia you are taking up so much room!!!
-This heat is killer, but it is hot for everyone so I try to not complain and stay inside and cool as much as possible.
Okay here is my bump...you can see I have been doing some serious growing lately! :)

80 or Baby?
I think along the path of life we all come to the realization that we enter this world needing to be cared for, fed, bathed, and dressed. And for some of us, that is how we leave this world. Although it isn't a pleasant thought---it's one we must accept and therefore decide to live in the moment, right?!
Right!
Pump the breaks. Okay then, can some please explain to me why being pregnant also makes you question what point you are at in your life? Seriously. Listen to the things that have come out of my mouth the past week and then you try to tell me if I sound like a 28 year old, fairly healthy woman!
"Look at my new pair of flip flops I purchased, they have extra support in the heal so my back doesn't ache."
"Oh My God! This underwear looks amazing...look at this thick band around the waste, there is no way my ass will eat these."
"Can you carry these laundry baskets upstairs, I have a shooting pain down my leg."
"I urinate frequently...could this be an over-active bladder?"
"Since when did getting out of bed require such heavy breathing?"
"When is dinner babe, I am starving!"
Daniel- "It's 5:30"
See what I mean??? I rest my case.
Signing off,
The 80 year old pregnant lady.
Right!

Never Let Your Praying Knees Get Lazy!
Today was a day that I think I will always remember, at least I sure hope I do. I know I haven't met my daughter yet, but I do feel as though I am already a Mom. And today, as her Mom, a very big weight was lifted from my shoulders. When Daniel and I went in for our sonogram last month to see how Gia was growing and to find out the gender, nearly everything we heard and saw was wonderful and beautiful. Nearly. The radiologist did find a small cyst on her brain that they wanted to monitor that day. After talking to our nurse and others who had a similar story we did find out that this was more common than we had thought and that it was developmental and should disappear within weeks. Now, I am sure you can imagine that those things are great to hear and all--but it certainly doesn't stop you from worrying.
For five weeks I have tried my best to put any negative thoughts outside my head and give this all up to the Lord. My prayers, my faith, and my God have become a crucial part of who I am these past few years and I thought he was the best person to talk to about this. Yet again, he has not let me down. Gia's cyst is gone, and she is growing beautifully weighing in at 1 lb 8 oz. She is head down, very active (kicking Momma alot these days), and right on track. Today is a day I will never forget. Remember back a few posts ago when I wrote that I was slowly learning that what I once thought was WORRY, couldn't have been further from what I know it is now? This rings true daily. I want my baby to have every opportunity to live a life of health and happiness. Today I realized that this miracle inside me is a true treasure for Daniel and myself.
Gia, we cannot wait to meet you in 16 weeks. You are already surrounded by so much love, you will not ever go without. God is good. I look forward to now having my prayers be full of thankfulness and gratitude!
Here are some beautiful pictures of our daughter, Gia Therese.

Room Renovation
So this weekend began our Pepto Bismol guest bedroom renovation! We hope to have this two-toned pink nightmare in our past in just a few short weeks, and Gia's Nursery coming together in it's place! This weekend, we broke down the bed and furniture and packed it away. Then, we picked up our rocking chair/glider and dresser for her room and Daniel began the daunting task of putting the furniture together!!!
The rocker/glider was a breeze, but the dresser was a little more time consuming, so he will be going back for round two this week! I painted a few samples of the grayish-lavender color scheme on the wall that we have chosen for her room (btdub---all colors look like crap next to the blush and bashful color scheme in the room now!).
Gia's bedding and crib will be arriving in the next few days as well, so hopefully we will have really made a dent in the room renovation at the Allegri household by next week. Miss Gia---we sure do hope you will like coming to your newly renovated nursery! Here is some of the BEFORE pictures! I will try to take some pictures of Daddy working hard for his daughter too! :)

Yoga Momma!
This past weekend my mom and her 3 sisters, and all the daughters took off for a Yoga Retreat. It was incredible. I got some serious spiritual healing and growing done and so many laughs you can't even imagine! It was great to get in touch with some of my feelings, worries, fears, and anxiety that I have felt during this pregnancy, and just talk about it. Sometimes the best therapy is simple conversation. And there is no better group to have done this with! Here are some photos of our retreat!!! I love my family.
Free time, family chat!
4 sisters and their daughters!!! Our whole group!
Me, Aunt Missy, Cousin Maddie A stroll around the Light Center with Megan and Maddie--two of my faves!!!
Creating my own personal oil that will help with relaxation!
Prepping for morning Yoga.
Hormones, Party of 1
So, let's just state the obvious shall we??? I'm 5 months pregnant, it's 100 degrees outside, and my hormones are not ones you want to play a game with today.
In need of a good laugh today? Well you have come to the right place my friend, sit on down.
11 a.m. (today)
I dropped off our weed eater at Goens on North Oak nearly a month ago to have it serviced. This same weed eater was purchased barely 2 years ago from Goens (it's a Stihl---yah if you don't know what that means, it means it was freaking expensive and the first real experience of the whole "we share our money now that we are married" thing that I experienced with Daniel...that was fun to see how much he spent on a weed eater, fun) anywho...I called one week after dropping it off still having heard nothing, they tell me that they are 2 weeks behind on repairs and to be patient. Fine. I called back last week, they tell me its on the table being serviced, and they will call when done, shouldn't be more than a few more days. Fine. I call back today, they tell me that it's been done for 3 weeks and they have called us to let us know this. WTF. Annnnnnnnddddddd hello hormones!
Here's how this went down:
Reagan-Are you freaking kidding me right now, I have called three different times and you have had a different story for me, this is the worst customer service ever.
Earl (yes Earl) - Mam, calm down, come up here and get it and we will cut you a break.
Reagan- Great.
Now at Goens~
Earl-That will be $45 for the repair.
Reagan-I thought I was going to get a break on this since it's been done for 3 weeks and no one called me.
Earl- We did call you. Oh wait, never mind I see here we forgot to call you.
Reagan-Am I in the twilight zone right now? Okay so what's the cost if I get a break
Earl-I don't know anything about this "break" you are talking about.
Reagan-Earl, I just spoke with you 20 minutes ago, you told me you would help me out.
Earl-I don't know how to do that.
Reagan- Is this a joke, am I on t.v. or something, I feel as though you might possibly be the stupidest person I have ever met.
Earl-That will be $30.
Reagan- Eff it. So, you want me to just carry this weed eater out to my car, since I am 5 months pregnant and all.....
Earl- Have a good day.
Reagan-I'm probably going to set you on fire while you sleep.
Earl-Take care.
1 point hormones---yet I am pretty sure that Earl has no idea what year it is.
2 p.m. (today) @ Vets office
Finished up with Brinkley's shots and was getting paid up at the desk. Lady stands directly behind me, breathing down my neck--Awkwardville population 1. She is ready to get her pugs from boarding. Lovely, just back off and the receptionist will be right with you I thought. Nope, she wants to smell my neck. Pugs come out from the room, she has no clue how to control them. And so it begins....my dog gets tangled with her pugs...Brinks isn't a huge fan of other dogs, she laughs and laughs and laughs. I start to get back sweat. Gia is kicking the crap out of me because she has no clue whey we are going around and around and up and down. Nor do I.
Reagan-Mam, just stand still and I will do this.
Neck Breather-Isn't this funny?
Reagan- Couldn't disagree more.
Neck Breather- Your dog likes my pugs.
Reagan-No he doesn't.
Neck Breather- You're funny.
Reagan- Brinkley, save yourself I have to get outta here.
Get to car, say a few of my favorite cuss words, and immediately realize this is exactly how people relapse and become smokers again after being smoke free for nearly 2 years. Instead I downed an ice cream cone, and got Brinks a puppy cone.

Baby Room Blueprint!
Alright, so we are making headway for Gia's nursery! I am getting so excited for it to come together (hopefully by the end of July or early August)!!! We have made great progress and have pretty much found all our furniture for her room. I have purchased the dresser, but the rest will be purchased next week! Now, of course all of this can change as we begin the re-decoration of our guest bedroom.
Let me begin by noting:
-the guest bedroom is currently a two-toned Pepto Bismol pink...for two years we joked that if we ever got into baby fever we could walk into that room and it would immediately turn us off!
So here is the blueprint for Miss Gia's room~check back in a few months for pictures of the finished nursery to see if we followed through with our first vision! :)
We begin with her bedding. As you will see below, once we found our wall color/wall decal~ that really set the mood for Gia's room. We knew we wanted it to be a very calm, soothing, and comfortable place for her to be. Lots of baby bedding out there is very cute, but it is also VERY busy...hard to imagine my little girl falling asleep when she is surrounded by lots of different patterns. So, we decided the wall color would be a lavender gray and the accent colors would be white and soft pink. This bedding fit our vision. The horrendous wall hangings will not be used, we plan to drape the comforter over the rocker, and IF we use the valence, we will only use one...this will make it not seem sooooooo pink!
We found this crib, read the reviews, and fell in love! We also loved that those reviews were very positive across the board at Wal-Mart, Target, and Babies R Us. Shop around..we found this the cheapest at
Wal-Mart and they have free site to store! :)
Wall Color will be very similar to this photo and we are ordering this tree decal to have abover her crib! This decal is what designed her whole room (color scheme, furniture, serene theme).
Our final piece of furniture will be a glider rocker and ottoman. I thought I had found what I was looking for, but I think I may do some more shopping around. Here is what we are thinking--I like the the fact that it is white and the wood is dark brown (matching the brown from the tree). Again, we would drape the comforter over the chair to pull it all together.

So that's the plan...now, time to get started. Daniel....let's go!

- I hope this furniture is easy to put together, I would hate to be surrounded by tools and large pieces of wood when my hormones take a nasty turn.

Americana Baby Momma
I hope this finds everyone home, SAFE, well rested (yah right), and back into the swing of things after a wonderful 4th of July holiday! This crew did some traveling over the weekend and it was wonderful. We headed back to Brookfield on Saturday morning and got to spend all day with my parents at the house. I love my deck in Brookfield. Then we headed out to a friend's party at his house and I got to see some great friends from high school I haven't seen in forever. Our host had a great spread of food (that's all I really care about these days) and then a HELL OF A firework show! It was so fun.
On Sunday we headed to church with the entire family and then over to see my grandmother Teresa. She lit up when she saw everyone coming to chat with her! Then D and I headed to Slater for our second round of family fourth festivities. Now, if you don't know---the Allegri family has never been one to skimp on a good 4th of July party. I have been going to their parties for 10 years now and every year, the food is amazing (again, that's what I get to look forward to, that, and early bed times and no hangovers) and their firework display gets better and better! Not only were we surrounded by lots of family again on Sunday, but I got much needed time with some great friends from D's hometown. Enough to fill the soul, ya know?!
Hard to believe next year I will be dressing my daughter in her red, white, and blue dress and bows. And then it's also hard to believe I will be trying to calm a screaming baby as she looks at her Dad and I with terrified eyes when the booms get louder and the lights get brighter! Sweet Gia, get used to it---you are an Allegri now, and there is no crying on the 4th of July! Why do I all of a sudden glance into my future and see my toddler in her diapers lighting her first M-80 and a whistling kitty chaser?? Oh, because that will be her reality...her father is a pyro.
What isn't hard to believe is that next year I will be able to enjoy a cocktail. Now there is something to look forward to! :) Happy 4th everyone!

The First Kick!!!
Today at 7:33 p.m. I was on the bed working on some homework (yes, dear GOD I am still taking classes, it is never ending...even with a masters degree!!!), and I felt a good hearty kick from G! :) Now, just to fill you in, I have been feeling her for the past week and a half, but even though you know that movement in there is the baby flipping and flopping, it can mostly feel like your tummy is rumbling or you have gas. But not tonight, she wanted me to know she was in there. Not only was this kick amazingly strong, I felt it a few times and was then able to yell for Daniel to come in and wait patiently for her to do it. After pushing around and attempting to make her mad, she hauled off and kicked and he felt it too! You should have seen his eyes light up. I thought for sure her kick wouldn't be strong enough to feel outside yet, but she wanted her Dad to know she was in there and was doing okay.
This kick was a VERY welcomed kick because today has been a tough one for Momma Rea. This morning I took a fall down some stairs at the house and landed on my toosh with quite a hard thump. Mostly my butt (baby got back) and my hand took most of the force, but it was enough to shake me up and worry about Gia. I called a few friends who reassured me this happens quite often to women b/c their balance is highly affected during pregnancy. This explains the random tripping over my own feet in the hallway making me look like I have been boozing. For my own reassurance I called my doctor who said that she felt everything would be just fine as long as there was no severe cramping or bleeding today. No news to report there, so that's good news. She also suggested, if it would make me feel better, to come on in and we could listen for Gia's heartbeat. I took her up on this! I was able to hear her heart beating strong at 155 bpm and that helped my worry. My nurse did say that she is so protected in there that not too much phases her.
So, as I was saying earlier, this kick was very welcomed b/c I want my baby safe, healthy, and happy! God is good, he clearly wanted me to know that we were all going to be just fine! Amen.
